Job Description

Cosben is seeking a dynamic and ambitious Senior Purchase Engineer. He will be responsible for managing the procurement process of raw materials, components, equipment, and services required by the organization. This role demands a deep understanding of engineering materials, vendor management, and cost optimization. The Senior Purchase Engineer will work closely with engineering, production, and quality teams to ensure that the procurement activities align with the organization's goals.

• Vendor Development:
  • Identify and evaluate potential suppliers based on quality, cost, and delivery performance.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key suppliers, ensuring the best terms of service and price.
  • Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with vendors.
• Procurement Process Management:
  • Ensure timely procurement of materials and components as per production schedules.
  • Issue purchase orders and follow up on deliveries.
  • Manage inventory levels to avoid stock-outs or overstock situations.
• Cost Optimization:
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities in the procurement process without compromising quality.
  • Work closely with the finance team to manage budgets and forecast procurement costs.
• Quality Assurance:
  • Collaborate with the quality team to ensure all procured materials meet required specifications and standards.
  • Handle any non-conformance issues with suppliers and initiate corrective actions.
• Cross-functional Collaboration:
  • Work closely with the engineering and production teams to understand material requirements and specifications.
  • Coordinate with logistics and warehouse teams to ensure smooth receipt and storage of materials.
• Market Research and Analysis:
  • Conduct market research to stay updated on trends, pricing, and availability of materials.
  • Benchmark procurement practices against industry standards and continuously seek improvement opportunities.
• Compliance and Documentation:
  • Ensure compliance with procurement policies, legal regulations, and industry standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of procurement transactions, contracts, and supplier performance.

Other skills & experience requirement :

• Proven experience in purchase of mechanical engineering equipment.
• Proficient in reading, understanding, and reviewing engineering drawings.
• Excellent communication skills with strong proficiency in English (written and spoken).
• In-depth understanding of commercial terms (INCO-terms), pricing, and negotiation.
• Strong analytical/ problem solving, organizational and time management skills.
• Must be proficient in MS Excel
• Highly organized and diligent with proven time-management abilities.
• Preferably from the process industry, chemicals, pharmaceutical equipment manufacturers, or project consultants (mechanical equipment/process industry).
